DoApp Holiday Thoughts
Posted: December 2nd, 2008 by Wade Beavers

It’s been a while since I have posted anything on our blog but since it’s the holiday season, it’s made me joyful ;-) So as Jingle Bells plays in the background I am dreaming of a new DoApp Application.

Nice Punch Buddy.
Posted: December 2nd, 2008 by Ian Kelley

The rain is coming down today. Well, ice is more like it. I am sitting in a Caribou in Apple Valley thanking my lucky stars that I travel by choice. I recall, not too long ago, driving 30 minutes to and from work every day. Last year, when the first inclement weather struck Minnesota, I recall getting caught behind an accident that surely stemmed from some driver who forgot how to drive as soon as they saw the first flake. Good grief.

Fun ways to use your myLite this Halloween!
Posted: October 23rd, 2008 by Jen

~ Stay Safe! It is dark out there; make sure to bring your myLite along when bringing the kiddo’s trick or treating to light the way.
~ Use the wind proof and fire resistant “rock concert” (or the myLighter) to light up your pumpkins.
~ Use the “strobe” effect with 10 sec interval, coupled with your favorite Halloween music in your iPod to create a spooky environment.
~ Add an extra Ooohhhh to your costume…  use the “strobe” effect, change the color to red, place in your breast pocket to simulate a freaky beating heart!

Doing Light Drawings With the ‘myLite’ App
Posted: September 16th, 2008 by Graeme Thickins

A photographer only identified as “bjeung” has posted a fun set of images on Flickr that were made using our myLite app. He captured several shots of his iPhone screen casting colored light in a darkened setting, against a dark background. We assume the photographer was using the “Trippin’” setting of our app, which runs through all the colors available and lets you select the speed of the color change from 0.1 sec to 0.5 sec. We assume he set his camera for a timed exposure, on a tripod, and moved his iPhone around quickly to create these “drawings.”  Congratulations, bjeung — they’re cool!

Yet Another Photographer Gets Creative with ‘myLite’
Posted: September 15th, 2008 by Graeme Thickins

This time, it’s a photographer who appears to be located in Australia, and who’s identified in a post at the Nikon Tree blog only as “kingGeorgefirst.”  When you click on “read the rest of the story,” you’ll be taken to this YouTube video entitled “bless outs thankyou,” which shows several images he captured with what he reports is a 30-second exposure. The name “Sam George” appears in the images, so perhaps that’s his real name.

Check out this awesome use of our myLite app, submitted by Jeremy Amaral.  He posted a Flickr set called Lotus Pod Studies.  And be sure to take a look as well at Jeremy’s entire photostream.  He does some incredible work. Thanks for telling us about how you use myLite, Jeremy!

Five Ways to Get a Date With the iPhone
Posted: September 8th, 2008 by Ian Kelley

As a single dad working with a startup, I don’t find myself on too many dates as of late. However, I do remember the thrill of meeting someone new and being attracted, wondering, how can I get a conversation started with her? Of course, the best course is natural conversation intermingled with a statement or two that will let her know that you are interested. Sometimes, it can work even better if you just keep your mouth shut and use body signals or a light touch on the arm to break the personal space barrier. First and foremost, if you cannot make them laugh, you cannot get the date. Long story short, you have to break the ice.

Thumpin’ Thursday: A Completely Digital Sound…
Posted: July 24th, 2008 by Pete Carr

I fancy myself a mus-ic-aholic… addicted to the good beats of a song, especially while I have my head down cranking out code. I’ve been a Trance DJ for nearly five years and, over that time, the industry has really changed. When I started, DJ-ing with vinyls was the only way to go. I picked up my two Technic 1200 DJ edition turntables and skimped on a mixer in order to purchase some tracks to play. Yet, these days, I hardly find myself ever purchasing a CD anymore, let alone a vinyl. Have we gone completely digital with our music? I know I have…. Read More »
