A perfectly gorgeous day in Apple Valley Minnesota. As mundane as it is to start a blog talking about the weather, which becomes obsolete the very next day, it is a part of what DoApp is up to. Through our Mobile Local News apps, weather is yet another thing we are making easy to know on the go, giving you exactly what you expect. We currently have around 18 T.V. stations available for free and many more on the way. You can download them here http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewArtist?id=284819107 Find your local station and get all the content you’re accustomed to; local news, national news, business news, sports, entertainment, streaming video of news casts, horoscopes and, of course, weather. For those local followers the WCCO application is going to be available today! Download it to your iPhone here http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=316976473&mt=8 This gives me a great sense of satisfaction as discussions with WCCO started with a camping trip where I met Dave Albrecht, one of WCCO’s highly regarded Producers. After the exploratory meeting, our CEO Wade and John Daenzer of WCCO worked out a way to bring the WCCO content right to your iPhone. You can see my blog about the camping trip here http://www.doapps.com/blog/?p=44#more-44 .
We recently had a write-up in Rochester Magazine which can be found here http://www.rochestermagazine.com/doapp/story-515.html . What a great write-up! I was just discussing with my sister Kiki how similar it is to one of Google’s early articles. Kiki was Senior Editor for Google while Joe (the President and Founder, Joe Sriver variety) was the first UI Designer. Kiki was comparing Joe and Wade to Google’s Larry Page and Sergey Brin. If you know Joe and Wade you can probably guess which founder they represented. Now, as far as us going the way of Google, it is nice to dream and have impressive goals. For now, we are just excited to be going public with our latest project and are thrilled to be getting the response we are.

As one of the beta testers of Mobile Local News I can attest to the creativity, time and energy put forth by our development team. These guys are going after it like there has never been an opportunity like this, and quite frankly, that might be the case. As news stations and news papers lose revenue on “hard copy” ads, DoApp is helping them to create a brand new revenue stream utilizing Adagogo, DoApps ad network. Adagogo is not just for the big players either. We are providing the ability to advertise within specific categories right down to a specific zip code. Imagine you own a local flower shop and want to only reach customers browsing the Entertainment section of Mobile Local News during a three day period, plus you want to get the best bang for your buck by only showing the ad to folks within a five mile radius. Relevant advertising is now available. Check out Adagogo here http://www.adagogo.com/ .

Thank you for your patronage DoApp fans. Our Facebook fan page is back up and I encourage all of you to fan us for the latest DoApp announcements and info. Now it is time to do some testing on those stations not yet public and bask in this fine Minnesota spring weather.
