JOB TITLE: Mobile Application DeveloperDoApp is looking to expand it's mobile development team and is looking for a Mobile Application Developer. Their main responsibility will be to architect and design mobile solutions surrounding multiple platforms but sepcifially the Apple iPhone and secondary platforms such as Android, Blackberry, BREW, Symbian, Palm, or Windows Mobile.. They will be accountable for porting over applications to new devices as the company expands into other mobile platforms. Work closely with product management and users to understand product requirements, and with server-side colleagues to develop optimum network aware products. They must understand differences in mobile platform implementation and be able to develop solutions around the differences. The Lead Mobile Application Developer will also find new and innovative methods that could result in patented disclosures to expand the company's patent portfolio.
This position will report to the Vice President of Development
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides and receives constructive performance feedback
- Plan, design, and implement native applications in C++ , Objective C, J2ME for mobile phones.
- Develop and execute unit test suites for mobile applications.
- Provide inputs to the design and architecture of the overall EQO services solution.
- Investigate and fix software bugs.
- Designing detailed user interaction models, and workflows
- Creating prototypes and authoring detailed interaction specifications
- Working with designers, marketing, and strategy to deliver the final product
- Successfully communicating conceptual ideas and design rationale
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
- BS in Computer Science or related (advanced degree preferred)
- 5 years of relevant software programming experience, having completed projects in at least three different programming languages.
- Experience with mobile markup languages such as XHTML/CHTML/WAP
- Mobile applications\ development competencies in J2ME, mobile devices using J2ME, C/C++, Objective C
- Strong server side development skills.
- Experience with Blackberry, BREW, Symbian, Palm, or Windows Mobile is desirable.
- Experience with developing across a wide array of mobile devices.
- Must understand differences in mobile platform implementation.
- Experience with deploying production mobile applications on a major carrier.
- Must have exposure to the delivery of successful client/server applications through the full product lifecycle.
- Must be conversant with, and have completed projects in at least three different programming languages.
- Ability to prioritize and manage work to critical project timelines in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to develop new approaches to complex design problems
- Must be organized, have an eye for detail and be able to put ideas into a tangible form
- Must have the ability to work under tight deadlines and function in a multi-site environment with the ability to work a diverse schedule
- Must have strong interpersonal skills, maturity and good judgment and be capable of communicating and managing a diverse range of individuals.
